Gruinard Island was used by the Ministry of Defence in World War II to experiment in biological warfare. Project n, a figurative sculpture constructed from Shape Memory Alloys (SMAs) designed to distort and change at predetermined temperatures was installed on Gruinard. Time lapse cameras recorded the sculpture's deformations and reformations.
