Natalie Jeremijenko & Eugene Thacker

Natalie Jeremijenko (born 1966) is an artist and engineer whose background includes studies in biochemistry, physics, neuroscience and precision engineering. She is an active member of the net.art movement, and her work primarily explores the interface between society, the environment and technology. She is currently an Associate Professor at New York University in the Visual Art Department, and has affiliated faculty appointments in Computer Science and Environmental Studies. Jeremijenko has alternatively described her work as 'X Design' (short for experimental design) and herself as a 'thingker' 

Eugene Thacker is an author and associate professor at The New School in New York. Thacker is known for his work in philosophy, media theory, and the study of genre horror and science fiction. In addition to his writing on science and technology, Thacker has written on the work of Georges Bataille, E.M. Cioran, Gilles Deleuze, Michel Foucault, Arthur Schopenhauer, H.P. Lovecraft, and medieval mysticism. Thacker’s most recent books are Horror of Philosophy and After Life. Thacker periodically writes a column for Mute Magazine called "Occultural Studies." In 2012 Thacker wrote the Forewords to the English editions of the works of E.M. Cioran, published by Arcade Publishing.
